I am an Insomniac and a scholar with a penchant for Hip-Hop and Rap Culture. I'm working on a come up, so don't call it a come back. The Potential is Unlimited for growth and I can see the forest because of the trees. The clock on my wall is right twice a day, because I won't replace the battery. I play songs on repeat so I can focus on the beat, and then I google for the instrumental. I like to visualize how songs are constructed from nothing to something which gives me a completely different perspective on the Artist I like and new angles on how to develop art around the vibes of sound. I buy mixtapes and rearrange the song order according to the vibes from each track @djdirekk called #InstantReplay in addition to everything else I got cooking in this fire called Nepalm.

How did you discover Hip-Hop? For me, it was epic! I did not know what it was when I found it, but it was going to change my life. I found something that was new and at the same time it was old because of the wisdom that came with the lyrics. My exposure to the culture basically saved my life. It gave me a glimpse into a civilization that existed miles away, but found its’ way into my front yard.

In The Autobiography, one will find out the difference between Hip-Hop and Rap from a historical perspective with my life as the lens. In these memoirs, one will discover how I was able to utilize a concept called Music Therapy to heal myself from and make sense of life’s scars. I feel that everything happens for a reason and I explore those concepts in this book by looking at the past as it corresponds to the present and future of my personal development.

When I looked for things to read, there were none that spoke to my generation about a semi-shared experience often called the “golden years” of Hip-Hop. It seems that in this capitalistic society, there is reverence given to the rich so it was only a matter of time before Rap took over the airwaves with sex, money and violence. Groups like N.W.A. overshadowed Public Enemy, and just not in sales but in infamy. Each of the groups functioned as the C.N.N. and Fox of their era, but only one was labeled as “The World’s Most Dangerous Group” yet both of their weapons were music. Only up until recently have scholars began taking Hip-Hop as an art form into consideration and serious intellectual discussion.
